JOHN D. HOTCHKISS RISES TO CHALLENGE OF DOMESTIC MARKET

Renowned in its field for supplying engineering solutions to the cable and paper industries, Kent based John D. Hotchkiss Limited was eager to meet the challenge set by one of its recent customers.

Working to a specific brief to create a floating staircase for a private London home, IPIG Glass needed a contractor that had the skills and capacity to produce and install the hidden tubes that would enable the staircase to 'float'.

Following an onsite consultation, John D. Hotchkiss supplied detailed V Block plans demonstrating how its specialist 8m long table could produce the bespoke metal tubes in combination with a precision indexing tool.

Representing the first domestic project for John D. Hotchkiss, company director, Thomas Sisley, commented, 'We are really excited about our involvement in this project. It has given us the opportunity to show our industry expertise, flair for innovation and above all, extremely high standards of craftmanship.'

Due to the nature of the end product John D. Hotchkiss had to ensure the holes were milled with extreme accuracy - an aspect that IPIG Glass had uppermost in their minds.

Ken Long, Company Director of Long & Co. Dartford, who is in charge of the project said, ' We needed to find a company that we could trust to offer an exceptional product and service. John D. Hotchkiss came highly recommended and they have certainly lived up to their reputation for quality and reliability.'
